and MANDURAH DOLPHIN RESCUE GROUP (MVDRG)

Sharon’s artwork for the Wetland Stories exhibition explores the work by the Mandurah Volunteer Dolphin Rescue Group. Using projection photography, Sharon has photographed portraits of members of group who work tirelessly to protect the dolphin population in the Peel-Yalgorup Ramsar Wetlands. Sharon will give insights to the creative process behind these portraits, along with other works in the exhibition.
Robyn Bickel is a long time volunteer of Mandurah Volunteer Dolphin Rescue Group, she will share stories about local Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, from rescues and citizen projects to taking action through local cleanups. Learn how the community can get involved to help conserve the Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins.

Sharon’s artwork for the Wetland Stories exhibition explores the work by community group Coastal Waste Warriors. The exhibition includes a portrait of Kirstin Field, founder of the Coastal Waste Warriors, along with a piece inspired by the Lucas Legacy Clean Up. Sharon will give insights to the creative process behind these works along with other pieces displayed in the exhibition.
Coastal Waste Warriors has now been operating for over 4 years and through their monthly clean ups have collected over 4 tonnes of litter and 1000,000 individual pieces of litter. Hear their moving and inspiring story of how the group came to be and how it has evolved into a movement with several hundred volunteers who are reducing the litter and marine debris in our local waterways. Learn how you can become involved and make a difference.
