  • During the creation of this series, I became aware of the devastating impact of land clearing of koala habitat in southeast Queensland and norther NSW and that koalas had already been declared locally extinct in some areas. As I unwrapped each print the ghostly leaf impressions revealed seemed like a message from nature to breathe, slow down, listen and think long-term. I added the delicate stitched leaves to symbolically echo and amplify this message.
